Who I Am?

Michael Thandizo Chiphwanya, also known artistically as C-Scripture, is a public policy specialist, researcher, entrepreneur, author, and hip hop artist from Malawi.

His work sits at the intersection of governance, leadership, philosophy, entrepreneurship, and culture. Over the years, he has worked across public service, trade systems, policy implementation, research, and institutional reform, while also using music and writing as platforms for reflection, social commentary, and transformation.

Professionally, he has served in several strategic roles within the Government of Malawi, including Trade Officer in the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Senior Delivery Officer in the Presidential Delivery Unit, and Deputy Director and Special Assistant to the Secretary to the President and Cabinet.

Alongside public service, he pursues academic research, entrepreneurship, and artistic expression — believing that leadership, ideas, and culture must work together to shape meaningful progress.

My Journey

Michael’s professional journey has been shaped by a passion for governance, systems improvement, leadership, and public service.

He began his career within Malawi’s Ministry of Trade and Industry, where he worked on trade policy, industrial development, export regulation, market systems, and institutional reform.

He also conducted market access studies focused on Malawi’s macadamia sector exploring export opportunities, value chains, and international competitiveness.

Later, he served in the Presidential Delivery Unit as a Senior Delivery Officer, contributing to government performance and implementation tracking before being appointed Deputy Director and Special Assistant to the Secretary to the President and Cabinet.

His work continues to focus on strengthening institutions, improving implementation systems, and advancing effective leadership within public service.
